Does anyone else watch this show? I never use to pay it any attention, I sorta assumed it was lame, but then I caught a couple of episodes and really liked it. I thought it was like Charmed with dudes, which would have been craptastic, but it's not, it's more in the vein of Buffy I think, witty and clever (though admittedly it's a bit hit or miss at times). Some of the episodes have me literally LOLing and the fact that the soundtrack is pretty much exclusively classic rock doesn't hurt it either.

Oh yeah and the characters are gorgeous -- that helps.

At any rate, it's a silly show that's highly entertaining in my opinion. The first episode of the new year is this Thursday. Am I the only one who will be watching?

Well, I started watching it a couple of years ago and then I messed around and forgot all about it. The show was okay, I just don't think I ever really gave myself a chance to get into it.

The first season isn't so great, I just like the dynamic between the two brothers, I think they're really funny.

I really only got into just before the winter. I caught a season 4 episode and was like "hey this isn't bad" so I went back and watched the previous seasons online. Gave me something to do during the hiatus at least.

There's an awesomely funny episode in Season 4 though, where they go to a town where people's wishes get granted (I know it's silly but it's called "supernatural" after all). One girl wishes for a life size Teddy Bear, but the Teddy Bear is manic depressive, and repeatedly tries to kill himself throughout the episode. At one point he tries to shoot himself, and you just see fluff pop out of the back of his head and then then the Teddy screams "Whyyyy!!!" because he can't die.

Also, he leaves this message on the girl's chalkboard:




Idk I thought it was hysterical.

I like the humor of the show. It's not heavy and complicated like LOST (what is?), but it's funny & entertaining. Like you say, the dynamic between the brothers is funny, but in a realistic way. I joke around with one of my brothers in a similar way.

I was just thinking of the show the other day; I saw Lola's sig, and I'd swear it has the father from Supernatural in it.

@ B, I'd link ya, but I just remembered you have dial-up. The episode is up on the CW's website though. At least, I think the season 4 episodes are still up, they took down season 1-3 though unfortunately

@ Cal, yeah it's not a show that you should think to hard on, and it knows it. It doesn't take itself too seriously like Heroes and so it manages to keep the episodes entertaining and fun without getting bogged down in plot holes and stupidity.

Exactly, it doesn't take itself too seriously, and sometimes I think there's a line or two thrown in making fun of themselves.

Yeah I've noticed that too. I think that's what keeps it from being irredeemably campy. The last two episodes or so were plot heavy, but they were leading up to a break which is to be expected. Did you see the black and white one they did for Halloween? It was great

Yes, I saw that one, thought it was good bit of silliness.

I've never given Supernatural a chance because I don't trust the CW
