This is very interesting! Could it be that its a flashback set some time after Locke's fall? So Ben visited him before he came to the island? Maybe Ethan told Ben about Locke after he shot time-skipping Locke at the drug plane?

Either that or its a flashback set after John leaves the hospital after tring to convince Jack to return to the island, but that wouldnt be anywhere near as interesting.

Or, if the reset mongers are correct, this is after flight 815 safely landed and left poor Locke still paralyzed. I dunno. Too many probabilities for this spoiler to be put into context. But veeery interesting.

I really dont see the point of this flash-sideways idea. What would that add to the plot? So the plane never crashes and Ben is sitting pretty as leader because Locke doesn't come to the island. So he goes and visits him? These what-if scenarios just seem like a bad idea to me.

My concern comes mainly from the reporters claiming these airport scenes are definitely occuring at what is supposed to be LAX in 2004. They claim they asked someone working on the scene. If we were just seeing these reports without that (admittedly) conjecture on the reporters behalf, I wouldn't be worried at all. These could easily be flashbacks... or...

Consciousness travel ala Desmond for those who were near the detonation. It occured to me that sydney pre take off for 815 would be a great place to send them bacto in such a way. We have saeen little of that day before hand, leaving a lot of room for this sort of thing without causing continuity issues with what we've seen before.

I'm still hoping this will turn out to be the case. Because quite frankly, flashing sideways is about the most pointless thing I've ever heard of.

Why are you guys so opposed to the idea of an alternate timeline? TBH I think this is supposed to teach the losties that 'what's done is done' is true for a reason.. and they have to work to learn from their mistakes and redeem themselves rather than try and undo the past. And seeing as this is Lost we're talking about (high quality television lol) the writers will probably find some incredibly emotional, cathartic, and satisfying way to present this. So if the ALT thing turns out to be true, don't lose hope in the writers! Has Lost disappointed yet?
