Default Pilot Season - New TV Shows

    I've seen two so far:

The New Girl - with Zooey Deschanel, they put the first episode on PSN for free so why not. It was actually pretty funny, despite the trailers making it look like crap. Standard sitcom but the jokes were clever enough. And none of the characters are straight up stock archetypes.

Ringer - shit little else to watch in its time slot. Yes, I only really did so cause it was Buffy, Mr. Fantastic, and Richard Alpert in there. Nothing exceptional so far, beyond the fact that it's relatively unique as far as network sitcoms go compared to the past decade of typical cop/lawyer/medical hour long shows. Episodic mystery-ish, but the concept is simple enough that you shouldn't get too lost.(ha-ha) Entirely watchable, but not investing.

I'm going to be heartbroken if Terra Nova sucks. At least I'll always have Primeval.

Up All Night - (the Will Arnett show) was okay but it didn't stand out.

Free Agents - Giles, but really it was Hank Azaria carrying the show.

After AD, it's hard for me to see Arnett doing anything as good! But especially I don't see him acting like a normal human being in anything. He needs to play another crazy person.
    They're coming.

I'd slightly disagree. I thought Jo Lo Truglio absolutely stole it and was really the only reason I continued watching. He plays nutjobs in everything, but it always makes me laugh in a new way.

Up All Night has potential, I hope it gets past what seemed like an awkward first episode and finds it's footing.

    Soooo... Ringer.

First of all, most boring title sequence ever! But who cares. Nestor Carbonell was great. He's the main reason I'm going to watch more of this show. British guy was cool too. I've not seen anything with Sarah Michelle Gellar before, so I don't know anything about her other work, but in this show she was completely boring to watch. Giving her the lead role, and two roles to play with.. doesn't seem like a great idea. But what do I know.

There were also some 'small' things that bothered me. Like why would Shiobhan (that's the one thing I know about SMG; she's famous for roles with stupid names) have a mirror room?! Was that supposed to be in her house? And what was up with the green screen boat sequence? You know which one I mean. And were we really supposed to buy Shiobhan killed herself (edit: scratch that, I just realised that's probably her at the end)? And how did the newspaper with the gun end up behind a wall? Surely someone must have noticed a GUN being inside the newspaper when they moved it. But... Maybe that friend with the unfaithful husband organised it all. I'm not sure I completely bought Bridget killing a man, but then again we don't really know anything about her.

But it wasn't all bad. As I said, most of the cast is fun to watch and the plot certainly has a lot of potential. And "I'm pregnant?!" is probably the most awkward moment in television ever.
