    Default Good Vibrations Code (3x23)

As I was watching Charlie's scene where he plays the Beach Boys' "Good Vibrations" on the Looking Glass security keypad, I couldn't shake my own mental flashback to Southpark.

Specifically I was thinking 5x08 where Towelie has to enter a security code, but ends up playing a song instead.

In honor of the mental mashup, here's a Charlie/Towelie Mashup YouTube vid. (Also posted at Lost Video Island here).

Oh, and my pet theory is that a member of Geronimo Jackson was the person Bonnie was mentioning when she said that a musician created the security code.

See, that with Geronimo Jackson is a great idea... kinda shows us too why Charlie was supposed to push the buttons - his middle name is Hieronymus after all and that's just the latin version of Geronimo.

Now this is the kind of theory I love. Someone who obviously pays attention to the small moments of the show and files them away to apply when appropriate.
I recently rewatched the Geronimo Jackson episode and I thought, "That has to mean something. They're talking about them for way too long." And look - here you come with a delightful theory!

I think this whole scene was a bit strange. Every electronic device for example some keyboards, cashpoints, cell-phones have their own characteristic beep sounds. How can Charlie feel out so simply which key makes the sounds he needs to "perform" Good Vibrations?

Um... no. It is very simple, as a matter of fact. Earlier keyboards were made like the C-major scale, with 1 being C1 and so on. And Bonnie even told him FIRST the numbers and then that those are notes, so he could have easily deducted what notes are on which number. If you ever played any keyboard-like instrument or anything, you'd know immediately.

Never played an instrument. I had a little yamaha-keyboard as a child, but never was playing it, it was able to play 5 songs automatically and i was just listening

Ok i am immusical, but this doesn't mean that I am an evil man

he knew the 1st few numbers... 545 and so on.. from that combination he could have guessed the following tones... but i have to agree... i thought he will try all the key in order to get a feel for the tones... but @ 1st try he made it successfully... very unlikely...

Yes but him getting it wrong and having to do it again would be quite dull and a waste of time.

As I explained, it's very simple for people who deal with music.
