Post-Candidate Deaths Discussion (FINALE SPOILERS)

Let's review the death poll shall we?

A spoiler source said 8 of the following characters would die before the end of 6x16:

Sawyer
Hurley
Sayid
Sun
Jin
Ben
Miles
Richard
Desmond
Claire
Frank
Ilana
Widmore
Zoe

A second spoiler said 4 characters would die during The Candidate.

A third spoiler said there were only 5 original Losties surviving the sub.

Now so far we have seen 5 deaths:

Ilana in Everybody Loves Hugo.
Sayid, Sun, Jin, Frank in The Candidate.

None of the spoilers are proved wrong yet.

Thus three more characters will die.

There are three groups, imo:

The "Dead Meat": Zoe and Widmore. Both are doomed.

The "Saved For A Reason": Sawyer, Desmond, Claire, Hurley. Along with Jack and Kate, these characters have looked Death in the face in the past few episodes. I don't think they were saved just to kill them off in 6x16. I think they go on to the Finale.

With Claire especially, Flocke had her right there and he didn't try to kill her. And he previously had a talk with her about her not being a candidate. I just don't see Claire dying anytime soon.


The Doomed Trio: Ben, Miles, Richard. If we take Zoe and Widmore as two deaths, then one of this group will die. I think Richard is the likeliest, followed by Miles. Possibly the spoiler is wrong and BOTH will die. Or possibly the spoiler is RIGHT, and both die, and ZOE LIVES to the Finale?

Spot on. Zoe/Widmore/Richard looks right to me. Zoe outliving Widmore would be stupid. Richard surviving a Smokey beatdown seems implausible.

But is Frank really dead?

Even his last line was so laughably perfunctory. "Hell." Like they didn't have room in the script for "Oh no."

Considering how many pounds per square inch of water pressure were behind that door/window I'd say Frank is very dead. We can't see his head bashed in for the same reason we can't see Sun and Jin drowning - acting has its limits

EDIT: APPARENTLY he was seen doin beach filming! Well maybe he IS alive. Or maybe it's a foiler...

If the Zoe bitch survive till the Finale, I will get mad.

I think Ben will betray the others, and kill Widmore. Miles and Richard are doomed. Since we were waiting from Frank to play an important part, we can assume Miles won't be saved either. Mib can kill them in one move. He won't kill Ben because he will join him...

Yeah actually we KNOW Ben is in the Finale so I dunno why I included him. And we know Desmond is in the Finale too.

I only remember spoilers about Desmond and Jack in the finale. Can anyone tell me who else is around with them? Not in the ALT, on island.
edit: and ben and the monster are there too, right? so other than them.

I think most of the Losties have been spotted at a cliffside-cave shoot. I can't remember any conspicuous absences. I think Jack, Kate, Hurley, Ben, Sawyer were all there.

I think the above plus Desmond plus 90% sure Claire, are safe.

I would bet that it's 3 out of Widmore/Zoe/Richard/Miles.

Didn't Sheila Kelley imply Zoe was in the finale? She definitely had the script. I suspect they will need her help to sink the island.. I would say that Widmore and Richard are dead certs to go. I suspect the third might be Miles as the only news we had of him in the finale was shooting scenes with Frankk who seems to be dead.
