I voted no better, no worse. But I have a feeling that I'll like TMBTC a bit more.

Ben and Locke over Charlie, I'm afraid. I feel the flashbacks were be better, the answers were bigger, and the characters involced were better than Charlie's story. Of course, Desmond will be in it TMBTC was fresh, but, it all depends on what happens in this penultimate episode.

It seems so long ago since the mini season now though.

Voted worse as I just can't see how they could top The Man Behind The Curtain. And Charlie episodes have been on the whole good, but not the best. However there is previous when it comes to episodes getting more and more intense as it gets to the finale!
So I hope I'm wrong - but there has to be a break from the intensity of the last few episodes, especially The Brig and The Man Behind The Curtain.

Charlie flashbacks are usually my least favourite (except for Jack ) but I get the feeling the on-island stuff will be aces. Although, I expect we won't see much of Locke and lots of Jack and his big white hat.

Yep - even though it's a Charlie flashback, just the fact of where we are with the on-island story is enough for it to be a cracker!
    Locke in the mass grave
Others on their way to somewhere (meteorology station?)
    The impending raid
Jack & Juliet vs Sayid & Sawyer and the gang

Ok, changed my mind - voted worse but now I think "as good".

My opinion exactly. I'm not sure we want or need a 'break from the intensity', though. I kind of like the breathtaking bam-bam-bam of the last few episodes.

I have to say, I really don't know what to expect from Greatest Hits. I have a bad feeling about Charlie (doesn't every band release their greatest hits album after a death?), and Desmond seems to be coming round to the idea that Charlie really has to die, so the omens are not good. But maybe we'll get some more information about Desmond's flashes (like what exactly causes them), which would be good stuff.

Apart from that, I'd hope to see what happens to Locke (although I suspect that will have to wait for the finale), where the Others are going, why everyone is so agitated about Naomi's radio/phone thingy, and what exactly Jack doesn't want Kate to know. More about Jacob would be nice, too.

And isn't it time we saw Smokey again?

Yes, I agree that we don't necessarily "need" a break, but (regarding the flashbacks, not necessarily the on-island part) can see it being one. Breathtaking bam-bam-bam is good with me too!

I do think Charlie will die, it does seem to be a course correction that has to happen in order for certain things to move on. That's been explained to me quite well and I agree with it!
If his death is involved then Desmond has to be involved too, I'm sure. Perhaps making the decision to let him die, or not being able to prevent it. Not much he could do if Smokey decides to hunt Charlie down I guess!

The mini cliffhangers from the last few episodes of the on-island stuff are excellent; there's no way the on-island stuff could be anything other than gripping, considering where the story is with the Others, The Losties, and Locke.
