Awesome! Thanks for posting the link, I don't have time to watch it now but will as soon as my kid gets on the bus.

Just watched it and it looks awesome. But now I have to nit pick....I'm re-reading the first book and trying to commit to memory all the little details.

In the first scene, the bodies weren't hacked apart and left in a symbol on the ground, but I admit it looked cool and badass. Also, it was the older man who deserted the Wall, not the younger, but whatever I guess. The scene where Ned executed him was spot on...if you forget that in the book there was snow on the ground. When Jon finds Ghost he almost didn't see him since the direwolf is albino and hidden in the snow, they'll probably have him hidden in a bush or something like that.

I'm being overly picky though, I think it looked great. Good costumes and casting from what I see so far. Watching this was a total tease, I wanted to keep on watching more, but we've only got 13 more days to wait.

it was also the arrogant guy from the nightwatch who changes into one of the others and kills the younger man as well. i always viewed winterfell as being so far north it essentially always had snowfall even in the south during the summer. but i think for tv youd have to make exceptions, and instead of showing a map of westeros to show how big it is you have to change scenery a bit to get a sense of it.

That's how I envisioned it too, but they're filming on location and can't control the weather. I dug seeing the heart tree, that was cool. Can't wait to see what it looks like up close and how they do the face on it.

Pretty funny interview with Martin and his thoughts on the end of Lost. I especially liked Lindelof's last comment.
