iPhone questions.
I plan on buying an iPhone soon, but have a few questions.
1. What is the average size of most applications? Would it be a good idea to shell out the extra $100 for an extra 8gigs?
2. Is there a "better" version coming out soon? (Within a month or so)
3. Could I pay for just text messaging and NO calling? I know the $30 data plan is mandatory, but I think I will use the phone for mostly texting and apps rather than calling.
Thanks for any help!

If you aren't going to use it for calling why don't you just get the iPod touch?
Free WiFi is like every where.

Well the iPhone 3g data plan, I will be able to access the internet from anywhere right? So I will be able to check facebook, or get on aim anywhere?

Right, the iPod touch only get the internet if you have a wireless signal/wi fi nearby. For me it's worth it because there is no monthly charge but if you have to be hooked up 24/7 then you'd def need the iPhone.

The cheapest route you can go per month is around $80 a month. If you want unlimited text messaging, add another $30.
My plan is as follows:
- $39.99
450 anytime minutes + 5,000 night/weekend + unlimited M2M
- $30.00
Unlimited data plan. Required by at&t.
- $5.00
200 text messages. I rarely go over this.
My bill is around $80 a month after taxes. You can actually text from aim, for free. I chat with my sister via her phone to my aim on my phone all the time, and it doesn't charge either of us extra (she has unlimited text, and it just counts as data usage as I'm using the AIM platform)
As far as getting 16gb vs 8gb, it really depends on whether or not you plan on putting music (or alot of it anyway) on your phone. I personally have the 8gb, and have around 48 apps. I still have 7.02 GB available. Granted - I do not have any mp3s loaded to the iPod portion.
It seems expensive, but it's worth it. I love my iPhone and will never get another kind of phone.

Thanks xout! But I have a question relating to using aim.
I don't have 3g in my area, so I will have to use edge. Will I still be able to use edge to use aim anywhere? So I wouldn't have to rely on wi-fi.

Buy a hacked one on eBay, it's what I did.
Free apps, 900+ Nintendo games, and your choice of any carrier.
