Default adam and eve = a couple...i think not.

sorry for a new adam and eve thread but i believe i have a question that hasn't been asked yet. (if so mods please feel free to move)

everyone seems to assume that "adam and eve" are a couple or at least a boy and girl that are somehow connected.
    why do people assume that?

if they were a couple you would think they would be lying next to each other...

    thoughts/opinions...

No Jack identified one as a man and one as a woman. The two are easy to tell apart by skeletons, the most telling of which is the rib cage.

They are male and female. But people seem to have jumped to the conclusion that they had to be a couple.

There's absolutely nothing to suggest that they were a romantically involved couple.

if years of watching "bones" has taught me nothing else, it's that a doctor should be able to tell a skeleton is female from the pelvis.

    yeah!

LOCKE: Clearly. But, who were these men?

JACK: Actually, one of them is female.

LOCKE: Our very own Adam and Eve.

My mother told me she was watching some show that said there are 3 types of skeletal structures. European, Asian and African. I don't know if its true or not but it made me think of our Adam and Eve.

I think they are a couple..for no reason you guys are right theres no reason to think that..I just like to think of them that way.

There no differences in skeletal structure across races because the distinction of race is a social construct and actually has no meaningful effect on physiology.

thematically it makes much more sense for it to be a man and woman, im pretty sure its Rose and Bernard now.

    haha okay thank you!!

i guess we can still answer the question on if they are a couple...
i edited my original post with the fact that if they were a couple then you would think they would be lying next to each other
