    Default Ben Question

Ok so when Ben and Jack are in that hotel room, what is in the package that Ben takes from the vent? His gun? That silly Truman Capote hat?

I have heard that it was the Black Rock ledger. What do you guys think?

Ooh, I completely forgot about that. I don't think they would've shown that if it's not gonna be important soon, so I think that that box's time will come.

That makes a lot of practical sense, but I'm going to say that it's something a bit more mysterious than that, since he was hiding it from Jack (and, who knows, maybe Widmore's men). Also, the fact that they didn't reveal the contents to the audience, indicates something more interesting. What that something is... I have no clue.

Gun to kill Penny. He flew to LA, so it's not like he could get his gun on the plane. He must have bought one, and then hidden it until he needed it.

That's good, and makes logical sense. The only thing is that, on Lost, they tend to reveal the guns people are concealing to the audience (showing someone lift the lid off the chocolate box, or tuck the gun in a bag or in the back of their jeans, etc). I think they would go in this direction if they thought the gun reveal would spoil the surprise of the Penny confrontation, but they seemed to be rather obvious with their hints regarding that scene.
