O.K, here's my argument for letting me host. I'll start off ad hominem.I know the main argument against me is that I've already had a go, but that was the first game. As well as being a long time ago, I could only use the basic roles so that we didn't start off too confusing. As I've played the game many times before I know quite a few extra roles which I hope to employ this game.
The new roles I've got lined up are as follows:
The Lovers
You've seen them before but I plan to make them more interesting. They'll be picked after all the other roles and could be ANYBODY. This doesn't confine them to ordinary civilians. A mafia, ninja or an angel could be one of the lovers, and, as before, if one dies, both die. Meaning a whole number of scenarios could arise: two mafia dead for the price of one, a ninja protecting a mafia, perfectly innocent civilians publicly defending a guilty party, we'd have to see how this one went, it's quite the wild card.
The Cherub
To me one angel doesn’t seem enough, especially with the no contact rule I’m going to enforce, (see below). However, having to angels would be too many. Here’s the compromise – an angel that can only use their power once every alternate round. We’ll still have the angel but he’ll have a cherub by his side as backup.
The Masons
This village is run by a Masonic Order. A group of select civilians who know each other. They have no power as such but are aware that their fellow masons are civilians. For all other intents and purposes though, they are regular civilians.
The Mayor
The Mayor is in charge of the town and as such it’s up to him to protect his civilians. His power is such that he may decide who is being lynched, but only once in the game. After that his power is exhausted. He does this simply by stating, publicly, in the thread, “I am the Lord Mayor of this town and I command _____ to be lynched”, or something like that. The mayor’s a bit of a drama queen.
The P.I
I can only use this role if we get enough players. He’s very similar to Jimeni’s informant. The P.I will select two people in the night; one to give information to and one to be the subject of the information. For example if the P.I asked to give information to the ninja and receive information from the mafia then that is what would happen. The ninja would be that the mafia member’s role is a mafia. The P.I doesn’t get told this information himself, it’s purely for the ninja’s use and it’s confidential. The P.I is on the civilians side but one slip up and he may find himself working for the mafia.
The old roles I’d like to use again are:
The Mafia (duh)
The Angel
The Ninja
The Reporter
The Doctor
New Rule
This rule may prove to be my undoing but I hope you all understand why I want to enforce it. It’s my no contact rule and it says that no-one playing must contact anyone else playing about the game. Don’t PM anyone about their role or post anything on their profile page about thinking they’re innocent. The game must be discussed in front of everyone. I know previous hosts haven’t really enforced this rule and I myself have contacted people out of the thread but this game is different. Civilians will have enough special roles in my game for this not to happen. It makes the game less fun for the regular citizens if everything is being discussed outside the thread, there’s going to be less of them now and they’re going to feel very left out if things are all happening behind the scenes. So I ask, if I am host and someone contacts you outside of the game, tell them to stop and you are not going to discuss this with them. It makes things a lot less fair and fun for everyone.

The format of the game won't be changed much. There will be lots of new roles (I think my final count of overall roles was 20, plus the lovers). They include; the leader of the mafia (who gets a special power), a sickness carrier, a pharmacist, business partners, a detective, town drunk/village idiot, a shapeshifter, a private investigator and a tie-breaker role and a few others I'm keeping quiet for the moment.
There will also be another "team" added, which will be against the civilians and the mafia. And let me tell you, it's a force to be reckoned with. Plus, civilians will also get an ability exclusive to them. I don't want to go into too much detail about it, but it will involve teams. More than one person can be lynched (under certain circumstances). The number of deaths at night can be higher than average too. Speaking of death, dead people will have an opportunity to be more involved as well.

Yes, I would like to host... I have several new ideas... not so much in the terms of new special roles... not of the permenent sort. You could, at any point, be given extra opportunities though. Having a temporary extra vote, or something completely different. There will, be a leader role, which will be voted for. The leader will have extra power and be able to choose members to do special tasks from time to time. Also, seeing as this is LOST... the Others are not like Mafia. And all attacks at night will result in "kidnapping". Which could be reversed later in the game, or not... providing a scarce few soles with a second chance.
Ok, let me expand a bit.
Smokey (LOST Ninja essentially): is appearing in human form and helping the LOSTies by killing those it deems to be "bad people"
Interregator (LOST Angel): has a sense of things. Can know someone's allignment just by asking them... Lets just say he asks them in their sleep.
Leader: Is elected, and can be from either side depending on who is elected. He can choose people to do certain tasks, and can stop any 1 lynching during his or her term. If the leader is killed (or captured 'see others'), another election is held and a new leader is chosen.
Traveling Friends (LOST Masons): These people flew from Sydney on a trip together, so they know that everyone in their group is innocent... even if they won't be able to prove it... their numbers depends on the overall number of innocents.
Lovers: These people will be choosen at a special time, by an undisclosed person. They will remain anonymus. If one dies, they both die.
Others: They are the "good guys" or so they claim. They work pretty much like Mafia. Only they prefer not to kill, only to kidnap. If you are kidnapped, you are basically dead. But further in the game, you may be rescued. If the game ends, and a mafia is "captured", they still loose.
While there are no secret permanent roles, temporary roles may be given by the leader. Also, some roles could be temporarily given to people at random.
As for death. Only by Lynching during the day, and a smokey death at night will a person actually die. And regardless of situation, if they die, their allignment will be revealed. The only way for a person's placement to be secret is for the Others to capture them.
This should put more of a spin on the whole self-capture method.
I'd just like to say, if you pick me, there will be more to the game than just lynch, mafia/ninja strike, repeat.

After discussing it with other players, my proposed format change for Mafia V would be private voting and that the mafia doesn't get to vote for lynching. This levels the playing field since the mafia can only kill at night and won't be able to team up to lynch a civilian. My original concern with this method was that we wouldn't have voting patterns to help us make decisions. However we have seen recently that smart mafia players can use that to their advantage and intentionally manipulate their voting patterns to incriminate civilians.
Also, currently in my version of the game there are special roles for 20 players. 2 of those roles are special mafia roles and there are two characters that will get to chose if they want to be aligned with the mafia or the civilians, only these characters will know what side they are helping. Trust will be a very big issue in this game especially behind the scenes between players. It is encouraged that if your character role is found out by a player from the opposite team, you do anything you can to talk them out of killing you, you can sell out fellow civilians or mafia, so betrayal will also come into play quite a bit.
The Lovers will be returning but with a different twist. A role for a Town Drunk would appear in my game. And the drunk will have an impact. Did I mention this game with have higher probability of multiple deaths per round? There a few deaths that will cause chain reaction events. And lastly, I am online all the time so the rounds should move rather quickly. This version of the game will require a lot of effort on the part of the host but I'm up for it. I've helped create two RPGs, one was Lost based and the other was totally from scratch, so I definitely have the experience in doing something like this.
-----------
who's it going to be?
Also, we're thinking of maybe assigning host roles for the next three rounds, so everyone gets a chance. Does anyone really not like that idea?
