Hey folks. I've been hovering around the Lostpedia for the best part of two weeks now, and it's amazing the wealth of stuff that's here.
Now here comes my main problem I have. I know we don't have any solid dates, but where did the current timeline for Season 2 come from? There are a few references to the passage of time within the show, and it seems that it's going to be difficult to find a timeline which matches all the data points. - The most obvioius reference is in 2x16 when Rose tells Bernard that it's Saturday. - Locke tells AnaLucia that Henry Gale's been locked up for 3 days, so 2x14 took place 3 days prior to 2x16. This count might include "today", so 2x14 could be on a Wednesday or Thursday. - We know episode 2x11 takes place 13 days before 2x22 - Desmond said he'd been sailing for 2 weeks. He ran into the jungle on Day 45 (a Monday), and presumably set sail the same day. - Locke tells Desmond they crashed "60-65 days" ago, in the second of the three days depicted in 2x23 Now there's too much conflicting data. If Desmond sailed for exactly 14 days, then this means Michael left the hatch (from the flashbacks in 2x22) on Day 46, before he'd even *arrived* at the hatch! So I'm giving Des's "2 weeks" a few days either way. For 2x16 to take place on a Saturday, it would mean that 2x06-2x15 take place over the course of Monday-Friday. 2x12 depicts two night-times (when Charlie kidnaps the baby), so basically we need 2x06, 08, 09, 10, 11 and 12 to all take place on Day 48. Is this too implausible? It would mean Shannon died and was buried, Eko visits the plane, Michael communicates with Walt and leaves the hatch, and Charlie has his first sleepwalking incident, ALL on the same day. The alternative is that the Saturday Rose refers to is a week later, but then it pushes the end of the season up to around Day 67, meaning the "2 weeks" is actually 20 days, and Locke is out with the "60-65 days" estimate. I know I'm over-thinking things, but does anyone have any thoughts on this? I'd really like to get a timeline that fits everything. David |

In the podcast, it was "hinted" that they haven't been on the island as long as they thought they have, which may imply that time passes differently on the island. So when out on the open water, Desmond's 2 weeks may not corrolate with the island's 2 weeks. That's all I have for now. www.silvertooth.org |

Funny how this kind of detailed obsession with Lost used to make me laugh but now seems fairly relevant... some 2 and a half years later.
