And it's not like it's even a silly mention of Lost, either. It was at a time clearly meant to be serious.

And I think even the non-hardcore followers of Lost would have gotten that - even casual watchers (is there such a thing?).

Only serious fans of lost would catch the reference and even then only serious fans of lost that try to ferret out every clue. It was a joke and a good one not a clue or promotion(the word "lost" is not mentioned.

I think I'm going through Lost withdrawal, I so want this to be something significant.

But again, I don't think just serious fans would get it. It's fairly well known that that is a Lost thing.

if you take this to be true then you have to discount Desmond's revelation that he brought the plain down with electromagnetism and if we assume that we cannot trust what we have learned so far we have no basis to build and theories on and the show would have no integrity. It is a joke and a good one

If you're thinking like that, then Naomi saying that the outside world thinks they are all dead has no integrity. I think that this could be something, we'll have to wait and see.
