You're wasting your time, unfortunately. There are some perpetually negative posters (Frank-Centric, GotMilk, a few others) who will pick apart every imaginable aspect of an episode because, as you said, they fail to "get over themselves". Amazing how they've got all the answers and yet ABC somehow overlooked them to write for LOST, right?
