But seriously, I want first of all to pass along my appreciation of his work on "Lost." And my question would be:

From what I've seen of your interviews, you seem a mild-mannered and a genuinely warm person. How do you get from that to what we see on the screen? The character and the actor are 180 from each other.

And second a question, if I get one.

Do have voice training? Even now? How much do you work on your voice?

Seriousely, I'm married to Ben, not Michael Emerson. I don't know how many times I have to repeat that.

But Michael Emerson is brilliant and my brain is spinning right now so it's going to take a bit to structure some questions for him.

What character attributes and suggestions were you given by the writers and producers when you began your "guest spot" as Henry Gale?

Is the character of Henry\Ben that has now become so recognizable and anticipated mostly their creation or yours, or is it a fair mix of the two?

Did you have any idea that it would be possible for you to stay on longer than three episodes when you first started?

Did you have any idea that the guest character you were playing would (or could) be the leader of the Others at the time you were portraying him?

I like that one! It must be weird for him to hear about how many people have crushes on him. I wonder if he realizes the amount of teenage girls that think he's "hot" or "sexy". He'd probably blush if this was brought up lol.

Given how attentive LOST fans are are you and the other actors more self conscious of your performances then you are when you act in other productions?

EDIT-Hey you said "we would have two or three weeks to submit questions now it is closed in 6 or 7 days?

Anyway I asked a friend of mine who has some experience doing interviews with entertainment types and the questions he said he would ask are


how much fun is it to play such a smug, manipulative know-it-all who everyone loves to hate? does it really get any better than that?



if you could give the creators of Lost one piece of advice regarding your character, what would it be?



when did it feel like you had "arrived" as an actor? be honest: was it when you joined the ranks of millions who've guest-starred on an episode of Law & Order?



how crazy is the shooting schedule on Lost? obviously things get filmed out of sequence -- what's the longest one of your scenes has sat on the shelf before actually getting aired?



Does constantly being pumped for hints and secrets about show ever get old? Do the creators tell you much about the story ahead of time, or is it strictly need-to-know?



has there ever been something the writers have made Ben say or do that you disagreed with? do you get any degree of input on the development of your character?

Wow, this is really cool! I'm happy for you guys that you were able to secure an interview with Michael Emerson.

Okay, so I've been thinking about a good question but can't think of anything spectacular. I know famous people are people too but when faced with the prospect of getting to ask one something, it's difficult to come up with something intelligent.

The only thing I can think of is (and it's not very original, I'm afraid):

"What are your plans when Lost is over? Stage work only, or would you be interested in more TV shows?"
