i can appreciate that the writers wanted to create a flawed hero, once they'd decided he was a keeper based on audience reactions.

but to me jack is the guy who ruins every camping trip, barbecue, or holiday that was ever ruined, sorta. it's his way or no way, and as far as he's concerned he's ALWAYS right, even when he's wrong.

he's just annoying and rubs me up the wrong way every time (but he is necessary for the show, nevertheless. it would be a poorer show without him.)

also, he looks so much like an action figure IRL that it's disturbing.

He's just so whiney it annoys the crap out of me.



Also, Shannon IS useless. That's why she died. At least Boone had the common sense to latch on to someone useful before he died...

I personally despise Sun, I feel that she is a one trick pony who does not add much to the story.

Locke. (Jack is a close second.)

I hate how he thinks he knows what's best for everyone, even though his assumptions usually lead to disaster. His trademark mysticism, secret-keeping and pride have led to more than one tragedy (Boone's death, destruction of The Swan, etc.), and the few times his manner did some good ("curing" Charlie of his addiction) weren't that impressive/effective. And he fell for Henry Gale's lame mind games. I hate him so much I was glad when his dad stole his kidney and he lost all of his (obviously fake) brown hair.

And, though I am probably in the minority here, I also dislike Rose and Bernard. Rose because of her "Don't be sad, someone always has it worse than you" attitude...no one wants to hear that when they are upset. And Bernard because he has a crazy Gollum face at times. Maybe that's shallow, but I can't stand it.

And, to reply to an earlier post, Shannon is not completely useless. I think she is (was?) one of the more realistic characters on the show. I bet we can all think of many people who would act the same way she did if put in a similar situation.

What I dislike most are boring characters on Lost.
Fortunately everyone I thought was boring has been axed from the show...

The thing these four have in common are that I can easily imagine another actor playing these roles. Think about it. In other words they are boring, they are not doing their jobs as actors to create something from the script.

In contrast, I cannot imagine another actor playing: Locke, Sayid, Hurley, Jack, etc. Their characters may be flawed, or infuriating, but that is what makes for a good drama, and a good ensemble: believable conflict. This is my pet theory for why the producers cut people from the show: they are boring actors-- it's not about "breakthroughs" folks. =x

Now in addition to "boring' there's "annoying". My #1 annoyance was the one who couldn't stop screaming: waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaalt. WHERE'S MY BOY. WAAAAAALT.

So he didn't get killed but he still got axed. Yay.

Now Claire is in danger of becoming a bit boring too, but what can you do when your only flashback was an island flashback... And Miss Klugh-- she had so many possibilities with her brief role, and instead she came across as boring, inconsistent, and not plausible. I know I haven't given her a fair shake, but I'll predict it now: Miss Klugh will be the first Other cast member to be killed off.

Michael!? What!? He is an amazing character! He makes the last few episodes of S2, i really started to sympathise with what he did to get Walt back. Towards the end of the series Michael was compulsive viewing!

Anyway, least favourite character....probably....Locke, because he blew the hatch up, despite Desmonds insistance that he might "have it the wrong way round". Still he went absolutely crazy, to the point where he wouldn't help Eko after he'd blown himself up, stupidly, but thats not the point.

Claires flashbacks weren't only island flashbacks, what about when she went to see Malkin? The psychic guy?

I can see this thread becoming heated!

Michael and Jack. Michael because of his WWAAAAAAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLTTTTTTTTTTT and Jack because he is such an annoying leader. He always asks, "WHere are you going," and "What are you doing." Kate kind of annoys me how helpless she appears in front of jack.
