It's been like this as long as I can remember. I wish it were changed, but I am so used to it that it usually doesn't bother me. (Unless I'm browsing from my ipod or blackberry, in which case this would be VERY useful.)

Oh, and how about this one: you make a post in a thread, and then click back out to the forum, only to see that you have unread posts in that thread! WOW! It's amazing when LP knows that you didn't read your own post - what advanced technology!

I always thought that was due to my cpu/browser/connection being slow is it really the fault of something here?

In my experience, this only happens if you close the thread before you let it load all the way.

See that's what I thought. And when my system is running slow it tends to happen on image intensive threads.

Fair enough... ideally, it should be programmed so that the Unread monitor gets updated first, not last... but what can you do?

I'm no forum-makin' guy, but isn't there tweaks and stuff for vBulletin forums? Surely this issue must be common enough...
