Keeping track of Unread Posts
Lostpedia Forums does not keep track of unread posts between sessions.
Why does this have to be?

Do you mean post that you didn't read in this session you want to be able to access via the unread post function in your next session? I'd love it if such a thing was possible but I don't think it is.

PHPBB does it just fine. On The Piano, I could log in a hundred times and avoid a thread, and that thread would remain 'unread' and take me to the exact last post I read, every time.

I would love for this to function correctly, but it's not something I would lose sleep over.

Uh, ok, I'm glad you guys can get a good night's sleep, but that's not precisely the issue being discussed here.
This is something that's really annoying to a lot of people.

Yes, yes it is. But it works about half the time for me, and I get a kick out of reading threads over and over again anyways.
 ...sorry if my post came off disrespectful or anything. It's a legitimate concern.

There's another related issue, too. I was on LP all morning, and was all caught up on a bunch of threads, and I had to restart. So, I closed the Firefox window, and reopened it after restarting... and the 'unread' behaviour was acting like it had first thing in the morning, taking me to posts which I had already read (and POSTED AFTER) as my 'first unread post'.
 WHY does it have to be so badly functional??
