Here
is what is known about Atlantis, thanks to our friend Plato. After reading that, it is obvious that my theory is making no sense right now. Wait just a few more lines. Now read this My theory is that the island is a lost island, similar to Atlantis or Mu. Why do I think that, may you ask? Well here is my evidence. Thank you lostpedia for some of it. Lost civilizations like Atlantis tend to make people think of incredibly advanced races. Well, if a race of people were incredibly advanced, then you'd think they'd be mentally and biologicall advanced as well, right? Yes. Walt is somehow related to this netal abilities. THe race of humaniods that previosuly inhabited the place had four toes, because they were biologically advanced, and they had parapsychological abilities. Walt has these abilities. Magnus Hanso came across the island, not as it is now, but a few fet underwater. It ran aground on a very high precipice of the island. A few hundred years later, the island grew, and everything that was aground on it with. The four-toed statue used to be very prominent, yet several thousand years underwater corroded it. The Hanso Foundation later visited the island, and found an incredible source of power there. This power source, if anyone has ever see nthe movie rendition of Atlantis by disney(not very good might i add) there was a powerful crystal that gave off incredible energy. Something like this is the power source. They established the Dharma Initiative to study the island's strange properties on animals and such. Something went wrong. It has something to do with the monster. I am thinking that the monster is a mythical being on the island, maybe Cthulhu. It went haywire, killed and/or took everything in its path. The remaining scientists no longer used the stations to study the island's things, they sued them to manage them and to survive. They did not do this very well, and several times he managed to pull in unsuspecting visitors. So, they managed to contain hin, and using the hatch system, managed it. At the season 2 finale, it went loose. Everything went crazy. Now, the monster is loose again. Oh yeah. The scientists that were taken were given parapsychological abilities, these thigns allowed them to be silent, read minds, the cloud them(e.g. the whispers) I am giving credit where credit is due, i drew a lot off of the Atlantis theory on lostpedia. Comments? Critiques?

If it was compelety under the water the animals (except birds) wouldn't be there unless the Dharma people brought them there. Are you saying the monster isn't the black smoke? If you are, Lindelof said we had seen the monster already which wouldn't make sense and Henry's reaction to the fail-safe why would he be so calm? Why wouldn't they just have someone who has knowledge of the monster push the button? Why would it be called a fail-safe if it releases the monster? Why do they call the trapping of the monster "the incident", it should be a great achievement?

I think it's just an extraordinary island. It was a bit special to begin with but dharma made it wessed up.

Of course, Henery Gail could be the monster....

That's an interesting theory. Henry Gale did not appear until after "Pslam 23" so it could fit with what we have been told regarding the monster's appearance in Season 2.

Exactly. They did say we saw the monster but did not realise it. I think most people assume the smoke is the monster, it could just as well be Henry Gail. |
