There's a good handful of locations that do not fit into this theory whatsoever. Just a few....Tallahassee, Ayer's Rock in Australia, Sri Lanka. But really, because they are important points in the show, that doesn't mean they are teleport points.
I have thought about the Cooper situation though. It's a good question. How'd he get to the island? My guess is by sub. In "The Man from Tallahassee", we see Cooper on the island. Later in the epsiode, the sub blows up. So the sub is quite possible since it was operational at the time. For it to fit my theory, it would only require Mr Friendly or someone else to get Cooper to Portland.

I definitely think that the island is at the antipodal location to Tunisia, and Ben ended up on the other end when he moved the island. As for the polar bear Charlotte found, I agree with the polar bears moving the island theory, for now at least.
My brother had this crazy theory about the Nigerian plane somehow ending up somewhere over Tunisia and that's how it got "teleported" to the island. I think that's a little far-fetched, but you never know. I always thought the vile vortices idea was pretty cool. may have to do with where the island moves, or special locations. I looked at a map of them again though, and most of them don't seem to have much significance.

Possible major anagram, might be a stretch (& in french, which I'm not very familiar with):
Doctor Leslie Arzt... Iles Crozet La Dort (sleeps) or Iles Crozet La Tord (twists) the grammar seems off, but surely there are others in french I'm sure, just don't know the language well enough, anyone care to help? It seems like a weird enough name to merit an anagram...but this would be absolutely huge, and would seem to definitively confirm this straight line theory.... |

I like your theory a lot. I just read it right now. I was just wondering though, what is your take on what was displayed on Ms. Hawking's computer? It seemed like the pendulum marked off at least 9 points around the Indian and Pacific Oceans that don't lie on the magnetic highway. Any clue was to what those may indicate?

The marks on Mrs Hawking's terminal were sort of what I was waiting for (i.e., SOMETHING, ANYTHING to give us some geographic references). Unfortunately for this theory, the points don't seem to have any coorelation to a "magnetic axis". I wouldn't yet call this theory "BUSTED", until we at least get some confirmation of 1 other guaranteed location that isn't on this axis. But it would appear my take on "the safe bearing" is at least partially wrong (since Faraday stated it was based on relative time, not island position). So all in all...it's not looking good. For now, I've stopped editing the theory and will just let it lie for now, even though some of it no longer makes sense. Back to Mrs Hawking's terminal....Because I had this theory hangin around, I did spend quite a bit of time examining her plotted points. I found a handful of intresting tidbits about specific points. But I really couldn't figure out anything substantial. And neither myself nor anyone else that I have seen has figured anything out that shows a common bond between those points. For the moment, seems we're all stumped.
