Across the sea

Next week's episode looks like it's going to be fantastic. We finally get to see more of our hero. I don't know about you guys but I've been in Jacob withdrawal.

Clearly the Man in Black is evil, especially since the events of last night's episode ("The Candidate"). Next week's episode may give us the history of Jacob and MIB at last. Are you guys hoping that Jacob is revealed to be completely good? ("The Light") Or something else? (I doubt very seriously he will be revealed as evil.)

I've been going into withdrawals myself! I love Mark Pellegrino's portrayal of Jacob. I doubt he'll be revealed as completely good, TBH. Hopefully, it won't reveal him as evil either. :-)

Anybody else disappointed? I'm still loyal to Jacob, regardless of the events of "Across the Sea." I've been depressed all day. I hope they can salvage his character over the last two episodes.

I'll be really upset if he isn't seen again.

I was maybe a little disappointed in how they chose to portray Jacob, but it was understandable in the context of what they were trying to show in that episode. I hope the following episode(s) will help us make some sense of Jacob's motivations following the revelations in this episode.

Here is a link to an interview Mark Pellegrino did for tvguide.com.
    Rather comforting.

Yeah- I read that interview. Here's another one with both Mark Pellegrino and Titus Welliver:

Oh, and Doc Jensen wrote an awesome column on Jacob. I posted it in the badass thread. Here's the link to that: http://popwatch.ew.com/2010/05/16/we...ding-to-jacob/

I feel better today. I rewatched parts of AA. hee...

Didn't the events in the last episode Mark appeared in just make everything better???? I think it was "What They Died For."
I was so happy, though sad that he wasn't seen in the finale.
Loved that Jacob finally "appeared" to Kate, Jack, and Sawyer. Loved Jacob's conversation with Jack.

JACK: I'm supposed to do this.
JACOB: Is that a question Jack?
    JACK: No.
    JACOB: Good.

The way Jacob said, "good" gave me chills! Always going to cherish this character.
This episode really made "Across the Sea" MUCH more tolerable, in hindsight.

The finale was beautiful in my eyes. Appearances by Eko, Walt, and Jacob would have made it absolutely perfect.

Looks like you and me are the only people posting anything in this group anymore, LOL. Yes, I LOVED Jacob's appearance in What They Died For. The whole conversation with the Losties on why he chose them and why he brought people to the Island was amazing. Pellegrino is really awesome. He brought out sadness, peace, wisdom, and humor into Jacob's looks and words in that scene.

I too would have liked to see him in the last episode, but I consoled myself thinking he would already have "moved on", and he didn't need a temporary purgatory/waiting room after his death. He was confident that the Losties would finish the Job.
