Default Flashforward compared to Lost? To broad? Not The Same Feeling

After viewing the first episode of Flashforward I was curious to see if it would give me the same chills and emotions as LOST. It did not. A few things I noticed

1. Medicore- Bad acting
2. To big of a story compared to LOST. 7 billion versus Thousands of people. Concept is kinda lame.
3. Great creepy cliffhanger and great to see Dominic is going to be a big part of the show.

I like the effort by ABC by not just presenting us with another 50 cop dramas. It has a unique storyline and very similar to Lost but its still not the same. LOST is a universe of its own, it is beautiful and dark at the same time. I will continue watching Flashforward, especially to hold me off till LOST starts.

What do you guys think?

I posted my review on the OT thread, but I'll copy it here too....

"I don't want to harsh anybody's mellow, but the pilot just kind of left me thinking "meh".

First thing, this probably should have been 2 hours instead of one. It felt incredibly rushed.
It felt very much like a T.V. show, where "Lost" feels much more like a feature film. There was too much fast cutting to generate excitement, and every scene is bathed in frenetic music, telling you to "be excited! be excited!!" To me, when shows or movies do that, it always feels like insecurity.
And the characters feel rather.... unbelievable. An FBI counter-terrorism guy married to a surgeon? His cocky swaggery partner playing all this false machismo. The cute babysitter making out with her boyfriend on the job. How come there aren't any Joe Blow characters? Didn't they have interesting flash forwards? The telephone lineman guy seemed to be the most interesting (with an intriguing flash forward) but he was a minor character.
And they all seemed to figure out what happened and connected the dots really fast.

It's alright. It feels like an average TV show. Maybe it gets better as it goes on. It's an interesting idea, and the special effects were nice. But the pilot kind of reminded me of "CSI: Twilight Zone".

I'm fairly certain his sponsor character is going to be a major one. Considering his was one of the main visions we saw along with main characters, it's safe to say he is one himself.

I think suspect 0 had to be our very own Charlie....

And it felt predictable. Maybe thats why they rushed it. When Penny( yes penny) was reluctant to share her vision, my first thought was she was cheating. What they should have done was left us assuming she was cheating, and it was up to us to figure out who without the vision.

Other than that, I thought the ending saved the pilot and Im in for another 2 or 3 episodes.

I doubt suspect zero is someone "involved" in whatever the inner circle of all this is going to be. He seemed freaked out by what he was seeing in the cctv footage. Just some poor bastard who was immune to whatever happened. I'm also going to bet right now he wasn't the only one.

I will give it 3-4 more episodes (I wasn't truly hooked on Lost until episode 4) and then I will see. They should've gone the Lost way and get actors that were hardly known at all. And who else was angry that Penny was kissing another guy? Desmond needs to make a cameo to punch him

I think suspect zero was far too calm. He didnt check on anyone. He simply walked out looking around. As for if hes not the only one... I agree. I think there will be more. WIll be hard to find out if ONLY 3 PEOPLE ARE ASSIGNED TO INVESTIGATE.

Has to be my biggest issue... the biggest event in Earth's history, and we assign 3 people to the task of figuring it all out

I think those three are just meant to be the ones on point. I'm sure they will be using far more resources than that.

Spoilers for the book "Flash Forward"....

Spoiler Below
In the book, I believe the flash forward effect was caused by a neutrino pulse, coinciding with the activation of the Large Hadron Collider. VERY scifi premise. I don't think the show is going to be about a scientific accident, though.
