Sorry if i get too far off topic, but seeing as many of you share my concern over whether these alt timeline flashes will serve any significant purpose in the over-arching plot of the show, I felt this was a reasonable place to post this. In Faraday's journal, there was a diagram showing separate "timelines" such as "real time", "imaginary time", etc. all converging into points that he has labeled "Event A", "Event B", etc. Any ideas on what these "events" could be or if they even have any importance in the context in which I am bringing this up? I gather that these "events" could be referencing the moment Matthew Fox was referring to when he says that the timelines will converge into one timeline fairly early into the season.

Sure it does, thats why they call it "flash-sideways" because instead of moving up or down the real timeLINE, you move sideways on the perpindicular imaginary timeline.

Also, "flash-sideways" is a fan made term, it hasn't even been used by anyone actually connected to the show. I don;t think you should accept it as gospel, considering it was basically coined on these boards... by fans.
