Discrepency in spoiler policy

In the Spoilers do not belong in the Main Forum announcement it states that:

"Any and all information about a future episode is considered a spoiler.
YES, THIS MEANS THAT PROMOS - PREVIEWS - TRAILERS ARE SPOILERS.
*However, this does not include the title of the next/upcoming episode"

Whereas in the spoiler policy thread it says that:

"Any and all information about a future episode is considered a spoiler. This includes titles and centrics*"

Just hoping that a final verdict could be made, and that one of those could be changed to match the other.

Indeed. The change to the next episode's title not being a spoiler was a recent one. I mean, I don't really have a problem either way, but a lot of people do, and it's not as clear as it used to be.

Oooh oooh oooh! I just noticed that if you hover your mouse over a thread title to preview the thread's contents, spoilers will appear in the preview.

Can we keep that it's not a spoiler, but to put it in the MF you must have it in Spoiler Tags?

Like anyone posting it actually reads the spoiler policy anyway.

I think the first is correct, and the 2nd hasn't been updated in a while.

This kind of goes with my recent thread I started in here about the S6 premier title being considered a spoiler. Some say yes, some say no, and when there's a major discrepancy like that in the rules then it's confusing.

We recently changed the forum spoiled policy (earlier this year) to be in line with the rest of Lostpedia (wiki/IRC). Briefly, anything about a future episode is considered a spoiler. However, only the immediate upcoming episode title and airdate are not considered a spoiler, when released by ABC Medianet.

From the wiki:

Lostpedia considers a spoiler to be any information about upcoming episodes, including cast, characters, crew, photographs, and synopses (etc). However, information about the name and airdate of the immediately upcoming episode, is not considered a spoiler, when released by ABC Medianet.

Pretty simple, right? Anything about an future episode is a spoiler except the title of the immediate upcoming episode, and that's only allowed when released by ABC Medianet. Basically, you'll know the title is legit when you see it on the main page of the wiki (www.lostpedia.com). Otherwise, please continue to use spoiler tags. I'll check all the spoiler policy pages/links to make sure they're all updated - thanks!



UPDATE: I've updated all the SPOILER POLICY posts (there were at least 9). Please let me know if I've missed any!
