Also, if you or any of your family or friends are in the military, I would HIGHLY RECOMMEND you let them book the events for your group at the Travel Agency at the Navy Exchange (NEX) near the Naval Base near the airport. I saved a ton of money compared to what I would have paid if I booked through Expedia or any other place for that matter. Enjoy! (and sorry for the multiple messages)
If we don't get to meet up, I hope you enjoy your stay. I know I sure have. I visited Pearl Harbor yesterday, which was somber yet amazing to see, and did the Grand Circle Island tour today, which is a great way to see the whole island in a few hours. I'm doing the civilian submarine (Galaga? Heh.) tomorrow, then the 'Lost' tour. Saturday: Swimming with the Sharks on Haleiwa, then hanging out along North Shore throughout the day and a luau at the Polynesian Cultural Center at night. Then doing the Royal Dolphin Swim on Sunday morning and another luaua at Paradise Cove with the friend who I'm staying with and her husband in the evening. I'm telling you all that to give you some ideas of stuff to do.
Hey. I'm going on the tour tomorrow, Sept 4th in the afternoon with the friend I'm staying with (who, unfortunately, isn't a 'Lost' fan but only because she's nevr watched the show so there is still hope!). If you get the chance, I'd recommend going to Duke's on Kalakaua Ave in Waikiki if for no other reason than their Hula Pie dessert. It's fantastic (but a lot for one person)!!! As for meeting up, I've booked myself with things to do up until Sunday but will be here until Tuesday evening, so perhaps one of those days would work or in the evenings before that. I feel awkward asking this but what is your age and gender? I'm 25 (today, actually. It's my birthday!) and male. The reason I ask is that it'd be great to meet up with someone and perhaps make a new friend but only if we're around the same age, otherwise it'd probably be awkward. Just sayin' . . .
