  1. oh, absolutely...

Stick around long enough you're bound to make friends...and most people on here started mainly in the MF...I still post in the MF all the time...or just have the conversations with other LP-ers off line (on skype or wherever). Drivshaft108 (I think that's the right number) hasn't been around in a while, but he's from Ireland, too...can't think of anyone else off hand. He's a great guy!
  2. it must be said, sometime crossing-the-line makes for some great nettertainment..

it would be very cool to make some friends on this board because there are altogether not nearly enough lost-watchers around ireland. i'd say it is easier to make friends in the ot, but i'm new to posting here and so i'm getting a whole lot of theorizing and speculating out of my system =D
  3. That thread has been very well behaved lately. It's not always like that. For the most part, it's a respectful conversation...but there are moments where people cross the line...

LOL @ the Jewish girl from New York...

And I've been on LP for a bit over a year...there are a lot of really cool people I've gotten to know. I even hosted a mini-LP meet up for the finale (again, see my Gnaveen thread pictures), so some people I've met IRL.
  4. yeah, i took a quick look in the religion thread. i was taken aback at just how respectful some people are to one another.. you don't often see that on the internet.

yeah, i actualaly know a jewish girl from new york! she actually stays in ireland during the summer. i say jewish but man.. this girl could not be abiding by the rules of any religion. XD if you get me XD she is a lovely person though.

so, are you a long time lp user?
  5. Yeah...I figured out the meaning from context

Most people in the world don't know a lot about Judaism...there are some Jews in Ireland, but not that many. And whoo hoo on getting the cooler testament If you read my posts in the religion thread, you'll see that my basic attitude is that everyone has to figure out what words for themselves--as long as they're not harming others, it's all good.
  6. well.. it is irish slang.. kind of. i think i use it more than most people do. i'm big into slang.. i use savage a lot. and deadly. and slick. they all mean 'good' XD

yeah, i would honestly know next to nothing about judaism. i was raised roman catholic but honestly i think you guys got the cooler testament XD i want to be a religious person but i dunno.. there are just a lot of aspects of it that i don't like so i kind of try to be as good as i can, stay away from things that seem obviously immoral and pray to god myself though i guess i'm catholic officially.
  7. West Side Story is a good show...in a classic good show kind of way. It actually takes place in my neighborhood (which is a much better neighborhood now, than when the show takes place). But LOL at the Puerto Rican Irish accents!

And I like the word animal...is that Irish slang, or just a word that you use individually, or is it one of those things that people say everywhere and I just haven't noticed it, yet?

Yes, I'm really a rabbi. And I'm female (there's sometimes confusion around here with that).
  8. i saw my friend's production of west side story and the dancing was really atrocious. plus all the alleged puerto ricans just sounded like irish people doing racist impressions of puerto ricans XD

i think tourists tend to really enjoy dublin, but i think residents tend to like it less. never been sure why. some parts of the city do have a real air of hostility but i guess that's true of anywhere. there are some parts of dublin that are just awesome. like, if you're into shopping it's a pretty animal place. and we've got a total abundance of museums XD that's basically both sides of the spectrum covered!

by the way, are you actually a rabbi?
  9. Yeah, I'm the same way. Loved Rent! And Les Mis (haven't listened to Les Mis in years...I need to dig up that CD and load it onto my iPod, come to think of it). Spring Awakening was great--if it comes to Dublin, definitely see it. Hair is one of my favorites...oh, and Little Shop of Horrors. Those are probably my main list of favorites (although I'm sure I'll remember one in about an hour that I forgot to list).

I've never really not liked a musical that I've seen. Hard to remember the whole list, though...I guess I'm not that picky.

We have many skyscrapers!! I love it here. The city has a great energy!! If you look at the pictures I posted in the Gnaveen thread, you can see some of the sites!

And I've never been to Dublin...it's definitely on the list of cities I'd love to visit, though!
  10. yeah! like, i wouldn't be a connoisseur or a critic or anything but i love les mis and rent and basically if i like a musical - i love it. i don't see many i suppose but being from dublin there isn't always a broad range of stuff to see.. what's new york like? i'd say it's animal. i hear you have skyscrapers =p
