Claire spoiler question...

So what do you all think could be the possible explanation as to WHY Claire seems to be a crazy, gun-wielding female Tarzan in the next season??? I'm trying to wrap my brain around it, go through the possibilities and the explanations, and I"m coming up totally blank. Everything else--the reset post-hydrogen bomb detonation, Jacob, Smokey--I can come up with an idea or theory about. But not this whole Claire thing. WHY would she abandon the child she loved so much? WHY would she sit so smugly in Jacob's cabin with Christian? WHY does she seem all disheveled and suddenly a tough chick who knows how to wield weapons and knows her way around the jungle? Does anyone have any legitimate ideas as to what exactly could've happened to our beloved Claire? Help!

All the losties were transported through time to end up at the era they were supposed to be to fix things. Claire was still on the island so she probably was sent back to the time of Rousseau and probably was the one who killed her, seeing how Mira Furlan isnt coming back that could be the case, then maybe Claire looked after Alex whom Ben then stole her from. She lives all her time on the island becoming the insane badass chick Rousseau used to be.

What made Rousseau crazy? Years in the jungle in isolation without her child on what amounts to a haunted Island. Presumably, Claire is on the island between 2004-07, without Aaron. Seems simple enough to me.

There is the chance the spoiler itself is a little out of context. We really don't know what Claire's like (we don't know her lines, her actions), so I'm wondering if she's nothing more than island-hardened with survival instincts now.

Aaaaaah, very true, very true. But with Rousseau, her child was stolen from her and she had to kill her own creepily possessed boyfriend/fiance. She was all alone, so understandably she became a little wacky. Claire voluntarily left her own child (well, seemingly, anyway) in the jungle and was voluntarily hanging out in that cabin with Christian (well, seemingly, again, hehe). I guess it just seems like everything Claire's done has been so out-of-character for her that it's a major head scratcher. I'm dying to find out this one!!! Thanks, guys!

Well basically, this is what most spoilers do-- give you info out of context. Without the context, the information is 95% useless =). We'll just have to wait. But now you know things to look for... =)

Maybe the island need a "continuity of just not quite right in the head", to replace Rousseau now that she's gone...

If Claire has been surviving on her own for 3 yrs, whether in the past or present, I can well imagine that she has changed.

I actually suspect that her presence in the cabin suggests she didn't experience the time jumps but suddenly came out of her seeming stupour to find herself suddenly very alone and seemingly abandoned.

With everyone she knew and relied on gone without explanation and her son missing, it's no great stretch to see this bringing on a psychological crisis and personality change of some kind.

I've a quick question because I'm a bit confused....

Do we know for sure that Crazy Jungle Claire is in the 2007 timeline?

For some reason I assumed the Rousseau-like Claire was in the Alt reality. That seemed to make more sense to me, but since I never really read the spoiler about Claire, I dont know if they specified that it was from the present day timeline.

Why would she be 'crazy Jungle Claire' if she weren't in the alt time? Alt timeline is off island, because it's supposed to be they never crashed..
