Yep I read it.
It was awful. Good thing Gary Troup died on the show, cause his book sucked. |

I was just curious. I just finished reading it and it was pretty bad. It started out okay, not great, but it held my attention at least. The ending was laughable. So bad. Maybe Gary Troup wrote it as the plane was going down? ;-) Does anyone know the story behind The Bad Twin? I was curious if TPTB had anything to do with it? Or who really wrote it? WHY?

Does it pertain to lost at all? besides the fact that the author was on the plane. |

Well in the book, there are characters with the last name Widmore, but they are twins (and their almost-senile father). There's references to the Hanso Foundation and the flight attendant from Flight 815 (Australian chick...can't remember her name...maybe Cindy) is a character. There might be other references, but I can't remember them all. I read it while I was in Iraq 2 years ago or so and I thought it was pretty bad in places, but some of the dialogue was OK...if you're really bored (like I was in Iraq), it's worth a read just to catch the references I guess.

There were some of our "magic" numbers referenced too. The twins were born on 8/15 & 8/16, 23 minutes apart.
I liked the dialogue and relationship between the detective and the old man with the dog. They talked about literary references, particularly I remember the Biblical story of the prodigal son was interesting. Yeah, laughable in places (and not in a good way). But if you're curious, at least there are a few good parts and it's a very fast read. |
