Experiment: statistics and groups in dwy

Ok... let's try this experiment.
The idea is to get statistics on how people interacted with the dwy recruiting process to detect what influences to pertain to one group or another.
If people responds and we have lots of entries, it could be statistically relevant and give use some clues...
However, note that we are trying to quantize some very personal and subjective things as "how much rationally did you answered to the elegibility test?; so the result will be influenced by that, but also will be dwy! :)

I will collect all the entries in this post and put them together to perform some statistical analyses, then post the results. I'd prefer to set it as a wiki document, but i don´t think it will fit the wiki policy

Ok, each entry should have this aspect:

where:

user_name = your login in this forum, just to keep track in case we have to add more columns in the future
group = pandora | ganymede
test1_score = [1-99]%, your best score in the test1
age = 1-99, your age in years
horoscope = your zodiac sign, in characters
sex = male | female
cheat = yes | no
dp = dharma points
rational = how much rational you feel you asked the elegibility test [0 irrational, 10 rational]
moral = how much do you care about morality when asking the elegibility test [0 none, 10 angelic]
risk = how much do the answers in the elegibility test could put you somehow in "risk" [0 safe, 10 fool]


If you don't want, don't know how to answer some of the fields, just put "NA"
Separate each field with an space " "

I don't know how much the eligibility test weighs in on what group you are in since you can register without ever taking the test.

Ok, after having some free time, i managed to do a small analysis of the data you posted.

Considerations:

no absolute conclusions can be taken from the data, since the the population is very low (28 people).
some of the fields come from subjective answers about the elegibility tests, recalled days after taking it
no/yes answers have been converted to 0/1
female/male answers have been converted to 0/1
horoscope is a completely qualitative variable hard to interpret here
0-10 and 0-100 answers have been scaled to [0-1] intervals
Pandora is 1 and Ganymede is 0
missing values have been imputed using knn neighbouring


Results
Said that, these are the correlation values I obtained. The closest to 1 or -1 the more related to the group (direct or inverse).

For example, rational answers go from 0 (non-rational) to 1 (very rational). If correlation is -0.96 means that the higher is the rational answer, the lower is the group. Since the lower group is Ganymede (0), that means that rational answers fit with Gamynede group. 0.96 is a high value, so it means that the correlation is clear (unfortunately we don´t have so high values)

All these correlations are too low to confirm that any of the variables actually have relevance in the grouping, but the (slight) tendencies (>0.15) are:


the spatial test, the age and the moral do not affect at all to the pandora-ganymede grouping.
rational answers in the elegibility test tend to group you in ganymede rather than pandora
risky answers in the elegibility test tend to group you in pandora rather than ganymede
surprisingly cheating tend to group in ganymede
high dharma points (dp) tend to group in pandora


2 and 3 fits with Ganymede and Pandora mythological "personalities". Pandora risked to open the box, but Ganymede was loyal and rational and served the gods. However, 4 doesn´t fit at all, since Ganymede never cheated the gods, as far as I know.

That´s all I could do with the data I have, non-conclusive answers but just some clues. Excuse the statistical jargon and the length of the post :)

I will try some kind of analysis with the horoscope, since it shows some kind of correlation (larger than these ones), but by now i don´t know how to interpret that.

It was nice to do the experiment. If significantly more data are posted, i will re-analyze it.
