"They are probably saying 8/8/08 because the "0808" in the address. They used "0729" in the last email that was sent on 7/29/08. Two more days till we learn we have to wait. I check the source. It contains the "Banks Claw" and a link to the hacked booth video"

Looks like it was hacked by Ruckus Guy because BANKS CLAW aka. BLACK SWAN is in the source code again.

Ha ha...looks like they're covering their collective ass for not having the ARG up and running to the satisfaction of the fanboys! :)

The location of the e-mail: http://www.dharmawantsyou.com/site/emails/0808.php. So far, all of the filenames of the Octagon and DharmaWantsYou e-mails corresponded with the date they were sent: the Octagon e-mail sent on the 18th of June could be found at 0618.php, the Octagon e-mail sent on the 16th of July could be found at 0716.php, and the DWY e-mail sent on the 29th of July can be found at 0729.php.
So it seems a logical assumption that this e-mail is meant to be sent out on the 8th of August, i.e. next Friday.

Which is actually a pretty good way to get rid of people who're just barely leaning into it and would probably abandon it anyway. I mean, they're bound to spend some money on server-space, SMS, and possible mailings (they did ask for our addresses, afterall) that would go to waste on the barely involved.

BOOYA!
Methinks this is a real update people. DarkUFO said the person who sent him the link was LBDG. A google search of LBDG turned up this page (http://www.scribd.com/people/documents/307259-lbdg), which says he is the author of this novel (http://www.timelypersuasion.com/Home.html), which happens to be the same guy who owns this page (http://www.darmawantsyou.com/Dharma.html).
WOOT!
More:
If you cut and paste from the darmawantsyou.com site, it grabs a line from higher in the page and inserts it below:
Be careful out there! This thing called “Internet” can be a dangerous place.
Namaste!

12, 22, 24, 47, 69
The line "(Or maybe this is part of the game and I just want you to think that...)" is pulled from halfway up the page and inserted right above The Numbers. OK, I am so reading this tonight.

Yes, there has already been some discussion about this author and his novel. I seem to remember a rather lengthy set of posts somewhere, but as I've been jumping between three forums and have read probably over 1,000 posts over the past week, the only one thread I can turn up again is here (http://forum.spoilertv.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=98&t=2699).
In any case, whether this guy's site, etc. are in game, or whether he's just as big a fan as he claims and is playing right along side us...
THANK YOU, LBDG! :D

Since I know nothing about webpage design, is it normal for source code for www.SureFitDoors.com and www.darmawantsyou.com/Dharma.html to both begin with this:
<?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?>
<!DOCTYPE html PUBLIC "-//W3C//DTD XHTML 1.0 Transitional//EN" "http://www.w3.org/TR/xhtml1/DTD/xhtml1-transitional.dtd">
Believe it to be normal, so forget I said anything

It might be a coincidence, but if it turns out that the same guy who wrote a book about traveling through time to save dead people was really the one who found the hidden email, kudos to him. :D
Even more so for his quote: "You’re lucky I’m one of the good guys." Remind you of anyone? ;)
"Because you're one of the good ones, John."
"We're the good guys, Michael."

So I have been perusing Jacob LaCivita's blog (http://blog.timelypersuasion.com/blog/), titled:
A Blog of Timely Persuasion
I’m from the future!
First things I have read are about Time Travel, Lost, and the Noble Eightfold Path of Buddhism (which, by the way, is this... look familiar?):

I'm a little freaked out. I can't tell if this guy is an uberfan like us, part of the ARG, or a brilliant strategist who is certain to dupe countless Lost addicts into reading his book.
Either way, I'm about to start. :)

Hmm. I'm not quite about to run out and buy a copy of his book yet. Would those in charge really send us down a road that included some affiliate earning a sizable profit?
Besides, the source code of the new e-mail has the same hidden code from the first. Would there be a new clue from RuckusGuy if it was a real e-mail? What are the odds the code was copied from the first e-mail, and this is a remarkably clever ploy to publicize this guy's book?
It just doesn't make enough sense. Not yet.
I think I'll wait 'til Friday and see if the e-mail really goes out.

He actually posted it for free, and basically said purchase it if you like it, which actually made me suspicious when links to his site first popped up a few days ago, but for some reason I chose to ignore my instincts. :D

We won't hold it against you. This time. :p
But honestly, one of the reasons I didn't continue to follow TLE after its initial stages was because to really feel involved, I'd have had to go out and buy and read a book that I might not even enjoy or be able to get into in the first place. It makes me wonder how many people they lost that way on the first go around.
So it makes sense that if they wanted to take a similar route this time, this is a much better way for them to go about it. This way even poor folks like me would have access to it.
Which doesn't mean it's legit, by all means. But I think we have a little (more) waiting to do before we will know anything for sure.

So is this real? I'm not really sure. I think perhaps it's just a case of this author taking advantage of the ARG. But I'm reading it anyway just for the fun of it doesn't look that big. I'm at the part in the bowling alley and the numbers, so it's peaked my attention. lol

OK, so the site is filled with references to time travel, Lost, dharma, "special" numbers, etc. Too much to even list. Today he updated one of the pages on his blog with a quote from the song Sebadoh - Ocean, which also seems to be a nod to Lost.
The lyrics:
So you think you're in the middle of the ocean
Stranded on an island of your own
Or stuck in the top of a mountain
Either way you're gonna say you're all alone
And I hesitate to say that you're a liar
I never tell the truth myself
But I tried to chase you down and I got tired
So I'm leaving you to you or someone else
˜Cuz you never wanna hook up in the middle
And I'd meet you there to talk if you would show
But you answer every question with a riddle
And refuse to even choose to let me go
It used to be I'd tell you all my secrets
Giving you the credit you deserve
I guess you didn't care to lose or keep it
And we never quite connected from the first
And I wish I had a way to make it better
To rearrange the world and make you smile
But it's dumb to even think I had that power
And we haven't been that close in a while
And I don't even wanna try to name it
Explain it for the one who couldn't care
˜Cuz all that matters is the way you choose to frame it
And I hesitate to say that you're a liar
I never tell the truth myself
But I tried to chase you down and I got tired
So I'm leaving you to you or someone else
˜Cuz you never wanna hook up in the middle
And I'd meet you there to talk if you would show
But you answer every question with a riddle
And refuse to even choose to let me go
If you can make sense of it, you're a better sleuth than I am. Or a better judge at what is actually worth looking into. Either way, I give up.
I tried to chase it down but I got tired, so now I am leaving it to someone else. :p

If you are referring to the dude with the book; I don't think he is part of this ARG. I think he was at the right place at the right time. You know there are all sorts of wacky things involving Lost in the real world. Even the outline that they wrote for Lost to submit to ABC was 23 pages...

I'm not sure who "he" is or what blog you are talking about, but the song, is an older tune by the band Sebadoh. It was released in 1996 and has a nice melody and a pretty good guitar hook. It's one of my old faves, from the good old days.

Let me know when he updates with lyrics from Genesis' "Home By the Sea".
I'm still feeling that this is the Jeremy Bentham hype all over again.
But I'm willing to be proven wrong!
