If that capsule took 30 seconds by that lady on the phone talking to supposedly reach faraday, and then it took 31 minutes to actually reach faraday, then time on the island would be moving 20X as fast, so an hour on the freighter would be almost a day on the island.

This doesn't affect the communication, b/c the speed of light is constant.... or you could say its 31 times slower but is still rediculously fast so you don't notice the lag.
