Nice! Can't say I believe Ben though that they'll "never know" what happened to Sawyer, Juliet, etc. I bet he at least has a pretty informed guess

Notice how Jacks says "They [Sawyer, Juliet etc.] would die TOO if I don't come back." So who ELSE did Locke say would die, other than those left behind? There was an interview, I think with Michael Emerson, where he said that returning to the island is a matter of the O6's survival. And Jack told Kate that he believed what Locke said because it was the only way to keep her and Aaron safe. So I think it's really a matter of EVERYONE's survival.

OR...
When the O6 return, maybe everyone left behind will already be dead...

I think it's pretty clear that Ben is lying about not knowing what happened to the people left behind.
He knows that moving the island is unpredictable and dangerous. He knows how to move it, and he knows where he's going to end up when he does it (cracker tin deleted scene). Seems like he knows quite a bit about moving the island. My guess is that he's lying to Jack to play with his emotions/reaffirm his conviction about needing to return. That or he's implying that he doesn't know what Time they ended up in (he did ask what year it was in Tunisia. Maybe that's the unpredictable variable). |

This sneak peek wasn't very revealing. I know sneak peeks aren't supposed to be revealing, but this is just a sort of filler scene in the episode. With the whole on-island recap and stuff.
