im a really big rose/bernard fan, so i like this episode
![]() strange to see everyones version of faith strengthening (eko/charlie and the church, rose/bernard and the healing, sun/jin and the belly rub), while our man of faith is having his own tested. in this episode: -ana lucia is actually very tolerable in the few scenes shes in -ben is so creepy, the look on his face when hes not answering locke - emerson is such an amazing actor and im so glad we got to see more of him -when rose is in the faith healers room and she looks out the window she sees bernard talking to a girl with crutches - um....shouldnt the healer have fixed her? i guess she could be waiting for her appointment... -the net scene is a jate-shippers wet dream this was certainly not the best episode of the season, but it is nice to know more about rose and bernard.

I too like Rose and Bernard. Their flashback story is so beautiful, good on LSC for allowing them to base it on her and her real husband. I love that Rose knew Locke was paralyzed the whole time on the island but didn't say anything about it until now. Hopefully these characters aren't done on the show, I hope we see at least a bit more of them in the final season.

I liked this episode a lot the first time around. Less so the second time, though. This was a change of pace, slowing down to focus on more everyday occurrences, which was nice. I'm also glad that Kate apologized to Jack for kissing him and then backing away... it shows they hadn't forgotten the little things. I miss this type of meandering in the later seasons. Good scene between Rose and Locke. When Bernard asked how Rose knew Isaac didn't heal her, she could have just said that Isaac himself told her he couldn't do anything and offered to return the money.

I think that Rose didn't tell Bernard the "why not" about Isaac not healing her because she didn't want to diminish Bernard's attempt (although she did it plenty at the time).

I liked this episode.. Feels very reminiscent of season 1. This episode also sets up Michael's return and you know how that ends up..
While I agree that B&R backstory added very little to the show, It was nice to see especially since I'm one of the few Bernard Fans on LP.. :P

If they never had this backstory, people would be complaining to this day. It did reconfirm again the healing powers of the Island and was consistent with the Faith/Science theme that permeates this second season.

i am sure they will take a part in final season.
why would writers keep dragging them through 5 seasons and not just kill off? After rewatch of this episode i became more convinced they are adam and eve. |

Quote:
Isaac's interaction with Rose is a lot like Malkin's and Claire's. Bernard says he got "three separate calls" pointing him toward Isaac, which of course is how they ended up on the island. Feels like more tampering by Jacob et al. Kate assumes all the Dharma stuff at the Staff belongs to the Others. Which is sort of true, but again it seems like the writers hadn't really determined the whole backstory of Dharma and the Others. |

The music during the scene where Bernard figures out that Rose doesn't want to leave - amazing! |
