Interesting connection. I kept getting nervous that Hurley was going to set his shirt on fire what with how close it kept dipping near the flame and this is my second rewatch!

(Linkitis) Never thought of that! I don't think it's reading too much into it. It's episode 18 and by this time they've figured out most of the important things like black and white (whatever that stands for), time travel, the Dharma Initiative, the monster, and maybe more. I think if they introduced a hatch in the show, they did know what was behind it, including a washer and dryer. This is almost proven with the fact that Locke sees a light in the very next episode. Surely they knew what that light was and where it came from, didn't they? So yeah, why wouldn't that be a reference to the hatch.

"Pissed off giraffe" cracked me up.

More quotes from the episode:

When Sun tells Kate that Jin is never going to speak to her again, Kate says "He just needs time." Nice little reference to time.

And when Hurley asks his accountant if he believes in jinxes or curses, he says "I'm an accountant. I believe in numbers." Awesome.

Finally, Locke: "I believe in a lot of things."

It was a great episode about fate vs. free will, especially pronounced by Toomey's speech asking Hurley if he believes that no disasters would have happened, no one would have died if Sam didn't play with the numbers. Reminded me of Hawking's talk about course correction in the sense that "it all would have happened anyway."

Especially when he doesn't believe Hurley when he tells him about the money he won.

I think Charlie's reaction was just what most people's reaction would be if in that situation. Most people would say... YA RIGHT!!!

OK i know its been said a few times already but yeah the australian accents are horrible , there are a ton of great australian actors dieing to get on a US show >< probably would work for 1/2 the price as well... Authenic > fake !! sorry thats my rant lol

SO the numbers when used bring the user good luck but people around him/her bad luck.
were used for the hatch code thingy.
were engraved in the hatch.
were being broadcast from the tower.
Were heard by lenny and his buddy 16 yrs ago, same time Danielle heard them.
I guess I should troll the wiki before I start making stupid assumptions =D
