I see what you are saying, and it definitely is something that is going for the des + pen relationship, but I meant on screen endurance, rather than real time endurance. Sure Des and Pen always pack an emotional punch, but that is in the 3-4 episodes that focused on their relationship, but I find it especially awesome that we see Sun and Jin in just about every episode, but we can be moved all the same in episodes like, Exodus, Collision, The Whole Truth, etc.

The mother thing affects causality, i.e. the reason you are able to shoot her is because she didn't die until she gave birth to you, so if you cancel that reason, you cannot exist, so you cannot shoot her. We haven't exactly seen this, as you pointed out.

But the compass still is a paradox because it involves vicious circularity. Locke took the compass from Richard. Richard took it from Locke. Where did it come from? Things can't really just "be", yet this thing is. This paradox was included to be symbolic of that life is mysterious, said Darlton (paraphrased) and I kinda like it. What's interesting is that the compass ages, as Richard points out. If whatever happened happened, and if there is only one timeline... then how come the compass ages? Have we just seen one loop? Shouldn't the single timeline be consistent in every loop (for infinite number of loops)? Because if it does age, after a number of loops, the compass should've disintegrated. Maybe the so-called course correction prevents that. But it's a curious subject.
Kudos to Blacxthorne for explaining the notion of "paradox" so beautifully. Many posters seems to be hung on the narrow concept of the so-called "grandfather paradox" while entirely forgetting the broader meaning of the term.

I'm glad they only did this a few times, then stopped. The song choices they made were spot-on perfect, though. "Are you sure" by Willie Nelson made the end of this ep unforgettable.

But shows like "Cold Case" end every single episode with a friggin' song.

Every. Single. Episode.

It becomes boring, repetitive and formulaic. Worse, I think it's lazy, a shortcut to stirring emotion in the audience. "Well, we couldn't really generate a strong emotional reaction in you with our drama, so listen to this bitchin' Tears For Fears ballad instead!!!"

"Lost" is better than that. A lot better.

I agree songs should be used only so often in episode endings. Gives it that extra special touch.

I never really payed much attention to the adam and eve. But my guess is that it is Sun and Jin. It seems like their building thir love story up and up through out the seasons. Like S1/S2 We saw their fairy tale beginning then saw thieir fall with Jin being her fathers bad boy and sun hating Jin and wanting to leave him..
But then they find their love again and in S5 Sun is obsesed with revenge for Jins death, then when she finds hope hes alive she wants to move heaven and earth to find him. Also vice versa, Jin wanting to find sun badly..

I bet they have a romeo / juliet type ending. You know tragic love story thing.
But I got no idea how the stones relate to them.

It's interesting how Kate said -- almost out of the blue -- "I don't want to be Eve." How freaky would it be if Jack and Kate had found their own bones?

Also, I'm really disappointed by Sun and Jin's relationship. They start out making Jin look like a horrible person, and Sun is going to leave him, and then by S5 she's not going to let anything stop her from getting back to him. His initial "cover yourself and don't leave my sight" stuff doesn't seem to fit, before or after.

from that Charlie's quote.
"...full of bees.. I'd have thought C's," I just don't get it_ lol

40-50 years? clothing? who says the clothing is new or old, maybe their waring "other" clothing or even "Future" clothing from 2004-2007 and thats were it gets it age from. just because jack says 50-40 years doesn't mean it has to be from 1954-64....maybe sun & jin/jack & kate put on the "Other rags" in 2007(season 6) and there bodies some how become placed in pre-2004 before jack finds the bodies...
