I have 2 theories, one says "Miles scammed the old lady", and the other one says "Miles did hear the boy" 1. He scammed the old lady, and happenned to guess where the stash was. (the whole time he was looking around trying to guess it) He pretended to be talking to someone if the old lady was hanging at the door, but the whole time he was looking around trying to guess where could possibly a young boy hide some money and drugs, he got it at his first try (maybe to save some time to the episode, I doubt TPTB would waste 5 whole minutes of the chapter, showing Miles looking for some money) but probably he could have spent the whole afternoon looking for places (and as he told the old lady, that no matter what she heared, she couldnt come upstairs, giving him enough time to get the stash) He also said "wasn't as tricky as I thought" maybe it means that as he couldnt listen to the boy, Miles thought he was going to have to look in every place possible in order to find the stash, and was lucky to find the stash in the first place he tried. Then when he says "he is at peace now" and he looks quietly the photo of the lady's grandson, knowing he is lying about his condition because he doesn't really knows. AND IT WOULDN'T BE THE FIRST TIME MILES SCAMMED SOMEONE WHEN HE CAN'T CONTACT THE DEAD RELATIVE (like when he lied to the football player's father, the only reason of why Miles told him the truth afterwards, was because he was going to the island) But there must be a lot of clients who didnt had their relatives bodies, so Miles still lied to them for the money, and people would believe him, from the reputation he had earned from satisfied clients 2. Its possible that the lady kept the ashes of her grandson in the house, so the "body" is there, and therefore Miles listened to him. (in Some Like It Hoth, he couldnt contact the dead footbal guy because his ashes were spread by his father in the football field, not gathered in a single place) So, as the woman didn't stated whether the ashes were or not were in the house, miles could have: -lied to her if he didn't heard anything (in the case the boy was 6 feet under, buried in a cemetery) -told her the truth if he did heard her grandson (in the case the boy's ashes were being kept at home) By this theory, the boy's ashes were at home, because without being offensive, that family seemed kind of poor to have their own grandson buried, so they would have cremated him and kept him at home in a vessel or ossuary. And Miles can hear dead people from far away, so even if he was at the boy's room, and the ashes in the 1st floor in the living room, he could have heard him. (remember when he was little, he listened the old guy even when the corpse was across the place, inside the #4 house, and Miles at the vending machine.) Ok I hope you like both of my theories ![]() Also, as many are wondering... MILES DOESN'T NEEDS TO USE A VACUUM CLEANER. THEN WHY IS IT THERE? The using of that vacuum cleaner, may be part of his "scam" to make his work more credible to people (he CAN talk to dead people even without that Vacuum Cleaner, but as some people wouldn't believe is ability so easy, he used the vacuum cleaner as a fake instrument to gain credibility, having Vacuum cleaners gained fame in popular culture, from being used in Ghostbusters to catch ghosts) -Zubieta |
